In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, the City of Saginaw will not and does not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in the City’s services, programs, activities or employment practices.

Complaints that a City program, service, or activity is not accessible to persons with disabilities should be directed to the person above.

Saginaw ADA Transition Plan: Regulations state that structural, architectural, and communication barriers must be removed in public areas of existing facilities when their removal is readily achievable – in other words, easily accomplished and able to be carried out without unfair difficulty or expense. Public buildings, public parks, sidewalks, curb ramps, and pedestrian signals will be assessed in the future in order to understand what modifications are required. An ADA Transition Plan is being considered to outline how the City of Saginaw will work to improve accessibility to all of its facilities.

Per the American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II Regulations, a public entity must evaluate its current programs, services, and activities for accessibility. The City of Saginaw has begun its evaluation to identify elements in our programs, services, and activities that do not meet the requirements of the Regulations. As part of this evaluation, Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. will be conducting field evaluations of City of Saginaw-owned pedestrian facilities in the public rights-of-way.
